NSF Funds NV Quantum Sensing Capabilities for NCMN Attocube System

August 18, 2022

The Nebraska Center for Materials and Nanoscience (NCMN) is pleased to announce that the National Science Foundation has decided to fund its Major Research Instrumentation proposal, "Acquisition of optical access in a cryogenic scanning probe microscope for quantum sensing capabilities." This instrument will leverage the existing scanning probe microscopy capabilities at NCMN and add the first commercial quantum sensing device to the set of characterization facilities at NCMN. There are only a few instruments of this kind available throughout the country. The EQUATE researchers behind this project are PI Christian Binek and co-PI's Xia Hong, Abdelghani Laraoui, and Xiaoshan Xu. Click here to learn more.
We can’t wait to set the system up and see it producing scientific results.
